How the SpillSafe lid works Most travel mugs offer a binary choice: lid open and prone to spilling, or lid closed and slow to drink from. TOPL's lid sits in three positions: open for free sipping, neutral (snaps shut if the cup tips over), and locked for transport. The 360° rim means there is no "right way" to hold the cup, so it suits left- and right-handed drinkers equally and works whether you're walking, driving, or sitting at a desk. Good to know before you buy The cup is intended for coffee, tea, water, and similar non-carbonated, non-thick drinks. Smoothies, soups, and fizzy drinks aren't recommended because they interfere with the lid seal. Hot drinks should also be allowed to cool below 70 °C (158 °F) before locking the lid, since this is a vacuum-insulated mug rather than a pressure-rated flask. The base is 59 mm (2.32 inches) wide, which fits most car cup holders.
